If you’re serious about upping your AR-platform shooting game without heading to the range, Laser Ammo just dropped a new product you might be interested in. The Flash Bolt, a drop-in bolt replacement for AR rifles, is bringing upgraded dry-fire laser training to living rooms, garages and anywhere else you can safely aim.

AR dry-fire training gets a major tech upgrade with the Flash Bolt. It replaces the bolt carrier group entirely—allowing full use of your rifle’s trigger, optic and grip setup without needing to cycle the charging handle between shots. That alone sets it apart. But the Flash Bolt doesn’t stop at convenience; it’s packed with features designed to give users an edge.

Once installed, the Flash Bolt emits either a red or infrared laser pulse when the trigger is pulled, depending on your selected configuration. The red laser version includes four distinct firing modes: one optimized for simulators like the Smokeless Range with a short pulse, another for paper target shooting that emits a longer visible pulse, a mode that uses an invisible laser to interact with reactive targets, along with a constant beam mode for boresighting or tracking muzzle movement. Additionally, the infrared variant supports pulses compatible with simulator systems used by law enforcement units that require ID-specific signals.

Built for flexibility, the Flash Bolt fits AR-style rifles chambered in 9 mm Luger, .223 Rem./5.56 mm NATO and .300 AAC Blackout. An optional adapter also makes it compatible with rifles chambered in .308 Win./7.62 mm NATO, making it a solid tool for anyone from pistol-caliber carbine competitors to multigun shooters and hunters. Crucially, it doesn’t rely on an electric magazine, which means shooters can still train magazine changes as part of their routine.

It’s also highly customizable. The included adjustable trigger and shim set allows users to fine-tune trigger weight and reset, giving fast competition shooters the ability to dial in their performance for speed and precision. This also means the trigger feel stays closer to the real-world experience, which is critical when transitioning from dry-fire to live-fire.

With solid battery life, full integration with Laser Ammo’s reactive targets and simulator software, as well as the ability to train across different scenarios, the Flash Bolt makes dry-fire practice feel less like a compromise and more like serious marksmanship training.

Something to note: The Flash Bolt is not compatible with certain firearms, including some 9 mm PCC models like the Wilson Combat AR-9, DaVinci PCC and JP Enterprises JP-5 PCC, as well as other non-standard AR or PCC platforms. Because it doesn’t fit all 9 mm PCCs, potential buyers are encouraged to check compatibility or contact Laser Ammo with any questions before making a purchase.

At $229.95, the Flash Bolt is not just a training aid—it’s a cost-effective training system. This compact, upgradeable option is a solid choice for anyone committed to getting better behind the trigger.

The Flash Bolt is available now at laserammo.com.
