SK Customs recently announced its latest limited-edition line: “The Kingdom of Atzlán.” Rooted in ancient Mexica (Aztec) mythology, the series begins with Huitzilopochtli, a striking tribute to the deity of sun and war—and the spiritual leader behind the legendary Aztec migration from Aztlán to Tenochtitlán.
Limited to just 500 units, each full-size Government Model Colt 1911 Huitzilopochtli handgun is chambered in .38 Super and showcases high-polish craftsmanship, deep Colt Royal Blue finish and selective 24k gold plating. On the left side of the slide, detailed engravings portray the Aztec journey southward as the sun rises over the Chapultepec Hills, with the Mexican eagle and snake motif—a national emblem—watching over the scene.
The right side pays tribute to Huitzilopochtli’s name, which translates to “Hummingbird of the South,” with a gold-plated hummingbird and stylized “AZTLÁN” lettering set against textured Aztec symbols. The top of the slide features his name in codex-style script and a golden Aztec union star near the rear sight.
Engraved beechwood grips depict the iconic eagle clutching a serpent, while each pistol is individually numbered. According to Simon Khiabani, founder of SK Guns, the project captures “both the origins and destiny of the Aztec people,” reflecting Huitzilopochtli’s pivotal role in transforming the Mexica into an imperial force.
The new SK Guns Kingdom of Atzlán series blends myth and metal, symbolizing an ancient cultural journey through modern craftsmanship.
MSRP is $2,650 for the “Huitzilopochtli” Colt 1911 chambered in .38 Super. In addition, each pistol will include a special engraved edition number.
