SK Customs has unveiled the second release in its “Conquerors Series,” a striking tribute to Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés. This limited run of 200 Colt 1911 Classic Royal Blue pistols chambered in .38 Super blends historical storytelling with high-end craftsmanship.

Hernan Cortes 1911
The right side of the slide shows Hernán Cortés and his men on ships entering the Gulf of Mexico as they first make contact with the Aztec civilization.

Cortés, known for leading the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire in the early 16th century, is remembered not only for his military campaigns but also for his early diplomatic efforts with Aztec Emperor Montezuma II. With the help of La Malinche, a Nahua interpreter and advisor, Cortés navigated the complex political and cultural landscape of the Aztec world, forging temporary alliances before the eventual fall of Tenochtitlán.

The pistol’s design captures this layered history. One side of the slide features Cortés entering the Aztec capital, with scenes of battle and exploration framed by subtle engravings of the Gulf of Mexico. The opposite side shows the Spanish fleet arriving on the coast, marking the beginning of a transformative—and turbulent—chapter in world history.

Finished in a deep royal blue with 24-karat gold accents, the firearm includes a portrait of Cortés, his Coat of Arms and ornate floral scrollwork. The grips are engraved with imagery of Cortés on horseback and a selection of period weaponry, tying the piece into the broader theme of conquest and legacy.

“In history, the name Cortés is synonymous with the word Conqueror. Bringing the Spanish Empire to the Americas, the conquistador was instrumental in the formation and the culture of Latin America,” Simon Khiabani, the owner and founder of SK Guns said. “We are excited to pay homage to Cortés and the lasting impacts that are still prevalent today.”

The Cortés installment in the SK Customs “Conquerors Series” of Colt 1911 handguns is priced at $2,850 and will begin shipping in August 2025. Only 200 units will be produced. Go to skguns.com.
