Eric Uptagrafft and Mark DelCotto, separated by a single point, battled it out tooth and nail on the second day of the metallic sight championship. Both went clean in the Meter Match with Uptagrafft out shooting DelCotto. In the Dewar the finish was the same, but DelCotto came back to win the 100-yard match.

At the end of the day, both former national champions were clean. Uptagrafft shot 109 Xs to win the day, while DelCotto had 107. Roberts Team veteran Howard Pitts also shot a perfect score with 91 Xs, good enough for third place.

In the end, DelCotto was perfect over two days, just a tad better than Uptagrafft. DelCotto came away with the metallic sight championship, posting a 2400-205X to best Uptagrafft who shot a 2399-221X. It should be noted that Uptagrafft had the best two-day total X count. This means that the match is a long way from over between these two shooting dynamos―as they head into the any sight championship. Pitts out Xed Joe Graff, 2396-178X to 2396-58X, for third.

Everyone gets a bit of a breather from individual competition as the International Postals, the Dewar and Randle Trophies, and NRA Team Matches are scheduled for Thursday, July 26.
