AUGUSTINE, Fla. — SK Guns builds its business around firearms made to be collected rather than carried, and its latest release leans fully into that idea. The company has unveiled the “250 Years of Freedom” 1911 Commander, a .45 ACP pistol marking the 250th anniversary of American independence.
Limited to 250 individually numbered units, the Commander wears a satin sapphire PVD finish with engraving work running across the slide. The detailing carries through to the smaller touches that tend to matter to 1911 buyers. A front strap checkered at 20 lpi pairs with a Stan Chen rear mainspring housing and a magazine well checkered at 25 lpi, while the Kirinite REACTIV grips repeat the checkered pattern.
“As we celebrate this significant milestone, SK Guns is honored to present a firearm that embodies the spirit of American resilience and patriotism,” said Simon Khiabani, owner and founder of SK Guns. “This 1911 Commander is not just a collector’s item but a tribute to the values that have defined our nation for two and a half centuries.”
Chambered in .45 ACP and built on the Commander-length 1911 platform, the pistol sits in familiar territory for shooters who favor the classic single-stack design. What sets this one apart is the commemorative treatment and the hard cap on production.
MSRP is $2,250. Orders are open now, with shipping set for July 2026. More information is available on the SK Guns website.
