Real Avid recently announced the second chapter of its Range Ready series and its aimed squarely at rifle shooters, with five full-length episodes featuring Doug Koenig, who walks through everything that happens before and after the shot.
Three of those episodes are already posted on YouTube. “Mounting For Success,” "Zero Like A Pro” and “Optimizing Your System” follow the sequence a shooter works through from a bare receiver to a rifle that prints where it’s pointed, covering optic selection, eye relief, reticle leveling, ring torque, bore sighting and the process of confirming a zero. Episode 4, “From Range To Field: Preparedness For The Hunt,” premieres Sept. 12. “Maintenance Matters” closes the run Sept. 22, with short-form clips filling the weeks between installments.
“I’ve spent my life chasing precision,” Koenig said, “and one thing never changes. The shot starts long before you get behind the rifle. It starts with preparation, setup, knowing your equipment and controlling the variables you can. That is what Range Ready means to me.”
Koenig’s résumé gives the instruction weight in both directions. He has won more Bianchi Cup titles than anyone in action-pistol history, took the 2019 Precision Rifle Series Production Class championship and hunts extensively across North America—a mix of disciplines that maps neatly onto a series trying to serve competitors and hunters at the same time.
Real Avid built its business on gunsmithing tools, cleaning systems and bench equipment aimed at owners who prefer to do their own work, and company executives frame the video series as an extension of that.
“Range Ready represents the next evolution of Real Avid,” said Bob Parrack, the company’s executive marketing and creative director. "We have always helped shooters prepare through better tools, smarter cleaning systems and precision setup solutions. The Range Ready Rifle series allows us to take that same mindset into education, range preparation and the full shooting experience.”
Episodes and short-form content will be posted through Sept. 27, 2026, on the Real Avid YouTube channel. More information regarding the company’s product lineup is available at realavid.com.
