By combining cutting-edge virtual reality tech with the gunplay expertise of Hollywood’s most sought-after firearms trainer, Ace Virtual Shooting has announced a high-profile collaboration with Taran Tactical Innovations (TTI). Known for training the likes of Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry and Sydney Sweeney, Taran Butler’s fingerprints are all over modern action cinema. Now, his iconic range—and his signature sidearm—are accessible from your living room.
The update brings Taran Butler’s personal range into Ace’s VR platform. Players can now shoot through the same stages that Hollywood stars use to prepare for high-octane roles. The new environment, available in the “Thrills” tab of the app, includes the Taran Tactical Hipfire Challenge—a blazing-fast quickdraw stage paired with a video tutorial from Butler himself.

More than just a cosmetic update, the range aims to improve players’ actual skills. Ace’s expanded Advanced Metric Tracking system now includes:
- Career stats
- Ranked run breakdowns
- In-depth performance graphs
- Daily drills and weekly training series
- Global stage leaderboards
Whether you’re a seasoned 3-Gun competitor or just curious about sport shooting, it’s a playground with real learning potential.
The centerpiece of the collaboration is the Limited Edition Sand Viper Handset Kit, launching September 12, 2025. This custom-built VR controller replicates the TTI Sand Viper, a high-performance double-stack 1911-style pistol that made an appearance in The Accountant 2 and was inspired by DS 1911s used in John Wick 4.
Key design cues, such as the angled muzzle, aggressive grips and oversized magazine well — have been faithfully recreated. In addition, the handset is designed to emulate the weight, balance and trigger pull of the real firearm.
The full kit includes:
- Ace x TTI Sand Viper VR Handset
- One of 50 limited-edition cards signed by Taran Butler
- Ace x TTI Challenge Coin
- Meta Quest 3 in custom hard case
- Bobo headstrap
- Chromecast for group sessions and replays

While pricing for the kit hasn’t been officially announced, Ace has indicated that it will retail above the standard $199 price for a single Ace VR handset.
The TTI bundle isn’t the only way to enter the Ace VR ecosystem. The Ace Quest 3S Bundle, currently priced at $649 (MSRP $699), includes:
- Meta Quest 3S 128GB headset
- Any Ace VR Handset
- One year Ace Club membership
Other available handsets replicate real-world firearms such as:
- Shadow Systems MR920
- Staccato P
- Staccato HD P4
- SIG Sauer P365-XMacro Comp
- SIG Sauer P320-XFive Legion
All are listed at $199 MSRP and offer realistic form factors tailored to their real-world counterparts. Plus, there is Ace VR’s in-house Arctus model handset, also priced at $199.
This partnership marks a significant leap for both brands. Ace continues to draw interest as a serious training tool, now with cinematic flair. And for TTI, it’s a chance to reach new fans.
Judging by the growing Ace leaderboard and the increasingly serious features packed into the app, the line between virtual and real-world performance is starting to blur.
