In the world of sporting clays, July belonged to Connor Daniel. The 18-year-old shooter from Team Winchester and Team White Flyer stamped his name into the history books by winning two of the sport’s most prestigious junior titles—within the same week.
On July 12, Daniel took the top spot in the Junior division at the 2025 World English Sporting Clays Championship held at E.J. Churchill Shooting Ground in High Wycombe, England. Less than a week later, he was halfway across the world in Cyprus, standing atop the podium again after winning the Junior title at the 47th World FITASC Sporting Clays Championship in Kornos Village.
While the dual titles speak for themselves, Daniel’s path to the top didn’t come overnight. Already a decorated shooter in the U.S. sporting clays circuit—with multiple NSCA championships and a standout performance at the Gator Cup for the HOA title—he’s shown a consistency and mental toughness that belies his age.
As a member of Team Winchester, Daniel relies on the company’s AA Lite-Handicap 1-oz #8 shotshells, a choice that's clearly served him well. But gear aside, his poise and performance under pressure are what set him apart.
“On behalf of Winchester Ammunition and White Flyer, we congratulate Connor for taking on the world’s toughest competitors and securing two significant sporting clay championships,” said Brett Flaugher, President of Winchester Ammunition. “This is a tremendous achievement as a sporting clays athlete and Connor continue to be positive ambassador for the shooting sports at the highest level.”
Later this year, Daniel heads to Georgia Southern University to study Manufacturing Engineering and join the Southern Clay Target Team. If recent results are any indication, collegiate clay target competition is about to get a whole lot tougher.
