Vortex Pro Cantilever Mounts Turn One Base Into a System

Vortex’s new Pro Cantilever mounts and accessories work as one modular family, so a red dot, clip-on thermal or laser rangefinder can join a riflescope without improvised hardware.

Vortex has a fix for the rifle with a top rail that has turned into a pile of adapters. Its new Pro Cantilever Mounts and Accessories, made in the U.S., are designed as a single system. You start with the Pro Cantilever Mount, then bolt on offset or overhead red dots, clip-on thermals or a laser rangefinder as the rifle takes on new work.

You can get the mount for 30 mm or 34 mm tubes, with a choice of 1.54- or 1.93-inch ring heights. Like any cantilever, it pushes the rings out ahead of the rail clamps so an AR-style rifle has room for proper eye relief. Vortex says the two heights cover everything from an ordinary riflescope to setups built around clip-ons and night-vision devices. Someone there also had the good sense to print the torque specifications right on the ring caps. Right now, it’s priced at $179.99 on Vortex’s website.

The 34 mm Pro Cantilever Mount is offered in 1.54- and 1.93-inch heights. Note the torque specs marked on each ring cap.

If you run a low-power variable optic and want a red dot off to the side for close targets, the Pro Cantilever 45-Degree Offset Red Dot Mount attaches to the cantilever base. Roll the rifle a few degrees and the dot is waiting. Anyone who shoots Three-Gun has made that move a thousand times. It takes optics with a DeltaPoint Pro footprint and sells for $89.99.

Not everyone likes tipping the rifle mid-stage. For them, there’s the Pro 12 O’Clock Red Dot Mount at $104.99, which sets a DeltaPoint Pro-footprint dot directly over the main optic. Vortex makes it in both tube sizes, and it fits the new Pro Riflescope Rings as well as the cantilever mounts.

Then there’s the Pro Diving Board Mount, a forward shelf for gear with nowhere else to go. That might be a red dot, an infrared illuminator or a rangefinder like Vortex’s own Impact 4000 Ballistic Rail-Mounted Laser Rangefinder. Sizing and compatibility match the 12 o’clock mount. It runs $119.99.

You can order the mounts and accessories from vortexoptics.com, or use the company’s store locator to find a local dealer.
