Next year’s Bianchi Cup Action Pistol Championship will be held June 15-19, 2027, according to the Civilian Marksmanship Program.

Traditionally, the Bianchi Cup has been scheduled for Memorial Day weekend each year.

The new dates run Tuesday through Saturday, starting just over two weeks after Memorial Day. Saturday’s finale falls on June 19, the eve of Father’s Day.

Pro shooter Julie Golob, writing in her bulletinX Substack newsletter, urged competitors to book lodging now and pointed to two upsides of a June match. With the University of Missouri’s classes out of session, she noted, room rates are already lower, and for allergy sufferers, “the cottonwood pollen is drastically lighter in June than May.”

Established in 1979 by Ray Chapman and John Bianchi, the Bianchi Cup is the premier event in action pistol shooting, recognized for its unique blend of practical, precision and action shooting disciplines. The championship helped establish Action Pistol as a distinct sport with its four longstanding events: Practical, Barricade, Falling Plate and Moving Target. In 1984, the National Rifle Association of America designated the Bianchi Cup the National Action Pistol Championship and assumed operational control the following year. CMP took over administration in 2023. Held every year since its founding at what is now the Green Valley Rifle and Pistol Club in Hallsville, Missouri, the Bianchi Cup continues to attract top competitors from around the world, challenging them to demonstrate exceptional accuracy and speed.

Doug Koenig is the defending champion, having claimed a record 21st title in 2026 with a perfect score of 1920-182X.
