Camp Atterbury

Silver Mountain e-targets were in use during this year’s NRA High Power Rifle National Championships at Camp Atterbury. Competitors could see targets and scores updated in real time on tablets and smartphones.


High Power Long-Range

A frequent competitor request, the addition of electronic targets eliminated the need for target-pit duty during the NRA High Power Nationals at Camp Atterbury. The above GIF is from the 2022 NRA Long-Range Championships.


Smallbore Metric Prone

Held on the covered rifle and pistol range at Camp Atterbury, the 2022 NRA Smallbore Conventional Prone National Championship was held July 31 to August 5, followed by the Metric Prone National Championship (above), which wrapped up on August 7.

Rain at Camp Atterbury

The covered range at Camp Atterbury provided excellent protection for shooters from the rain that greeted them the morning of Thursday, August 4, at the NRA Smallbore Rifle Conventional Prone National Championship. Solid rain gear had to suffice for shooters venturing out during target changes, as seen above.

The NRA Precision Pistol National Championships are comprised of a 2700-point aggregate drawn from the .22 Rimfire, Centerfire and .45 Championships. In 2022 during the Pistol Nationals at Camp Atterbury, the NRA distributed awards across 33 different events.

Howard J. "Walt" Walter receives award

Above you can see longtime NRA Director, Walt Walter, honored with a special lifetime achievement award during the 2022 NRA National Matches at Camp Atterbury. In front of a packed house in August during the Pershing International Trophy Match Banquet, the award was presented to Walter, who is 90 years old, by NRA Second Vice President David Coy and NRA Competitive Shooting Director Cole McCulloch. Walter received a standing ovation during the presentation at the Pershing International Trophy Match Banquet that lasted several minutes.
