Competing for over a decade may not seem like a big deal, unless of course you’re 17-year old Wyatt Gibson. At only 6 years old, Wyatt began shooting local pistol matches. Four years later, it was 3-Gun. His accomplishments are amazing. MGM Ironman High Junior and 1st Trooper, Montana Multigun Championships 1st overall and High Junior, USPSA Mulitgun Nationals High Junior and 8th overall Open, Surefire World Championships High Junior and 2nd overall and Starlight 3-Gun Championships High Junior.

During competition, Wyatt shoots in both Open and Tactical Optics divisions. When given the choice, it’s also the Trooper Division for him. His rifle is a Colt Competition CCR Pro with a Proof Research carbon fiber wrapped barrel. For a scope it’s a Vortex Razor HD 1-6 with a Warne Scope Mount. The Remington Versa Max Tactical with an X-rail from RCI is his shotgun of choice. And last but not least his pistol, a custom 2011 from EMG Customs.

Wyatt’s Team Hornady range bag is both lightweight and durable. He throws everything in it: sandbags, bi-pods, magazines, choke tubes, bullets, and tools. There is room for everything he needs.

For those interested in finding out more about the sport of 3-Gun, Wyatt suggests checking out www.3gunnation.com to find a nearby match. Once you find a match, be safe and have loads of fun! If you really enjoy competing, don’t be afraid to customize your guns to fit you. None of Wyatt’s guns are even close to factory. If you don’t like something on a gun, exchange it for something you do like.

What all started with a .22 rifle Christmas gift from his parents when he was only four, developed into a shooting lifestyle. However, when not competing, Wyatt does enjoy shooting a bow, golfing, camping and four wheeling. Yep, he loves the outdoors.
