Yeagertown Pennsylvania Native Begins Military Career at Camp Perry
In 1998, the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit recruited young Adam Sokolowski after he won the National Junior Pistol Championship title at Camp Perry, OH, in 1998. Just a year later, he won the National Trophy Individual title at Camp Perry. And during the same week, he seized the National Junior Pistol Champion title one final time.

Camp Perry Beginnings Pay Off With Record

Sgt. 1st Class Adam Sokolowski, the Service Pistol Team chief and coach with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, shown here at Camp Perry, OH, in 1999 as a soldier with the AMU. Recently, the Yeagertown, PA, native competed in the 2017 NRA Bianchi Cup in Hallsville, MO. In addition to winning the Bianchi Cup Metallic Division Championship, Sokolowski broke a national record for the first-ever, perfect score of 1920 in Metallic. However, his career in the competitive shooting world and the Army all started at Camp Perry.

Sgt. 1st Class Adam Sokolowski, the Service Pistol Team chief and coach with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, assists a competitive shooter during the Small Arms Firing School at Camp Perry, OH on July 1, 2017. Sokolowski started his career in marksmanship at Camp Perry as a young boy in the mid 1990s, which ultimately led to his recruitment into the AMU. Recently at Camp Perry, the Yeagertown, PA, native won the titles of High Service Champion and .45 Caliber Champion as well as a second place finish in the NRA National Pistol Championships.

Sokolowski Breaks Bianchi Cup Record

Sgt. 1st Class Adam Sokolowski fires his 9 mm pistol at the 2017 NRA Bianchi Cup on May 24 in Hallsville, MO. Sokolowski, who won the 2016 Bianchi Production Division Champion title, not only earned the new title of Metallic Division Champion but also set a national record for the first-ever, perfect score of 1920 with a metallic gun (iron sights) at the 2017 tournament.
