New from Meopta USA is a straight-bodied model of the MeoPro HD 80 spotting scope. The MeoPro HD 80 is a one-piece spotting scope with a fixed 20-60x eyepiece and 80 mm fluoride objective lens. Now shooters can choose between an angle- or straight-body version of this popular scope.

Eye relief is .73 inches, with a maximum 65-degree field of view through the 80 mm objective lens. Built for durability, the MeoPro HD 80 is armored well with a magnesium alloy body and rubber armor. Total length including the eyepiece is 15.2 inches, and the weight is 4.25 pounds.

The MeoPro HD 80 sports mid-body focus controls. The body is nitrogen-purged, waterproof, fogproof and shockproof. Tripod thread is ¼ - 20.

The HD 80’s mid-body focus control is oversized and designed to be easy-to-use with gloved hands. As for optical clarity there are multiple coatings that help eliminate glare and reflections. The lenses use a hydrophobic coating to keep rain, snow, oils and dirt from marring the view. The usual nitrogen-purging process is present that helps keep moisture from entering the body. Additionally, there is an anti-abrasion coating on the external lens surfaces to protect from scratches.

MSRP is $1,599.95. The MeoPro HD 80 spotting scope can also be purchased as part of a kit for $100 more that adds a carbon-fiber tripod, smartphone adapter and carrying case.
