Federal has added three calibers to its Syntech Range ammunition line, .38 Spl., .380 Auto and 10 mm Auto. All three new Syntech Range cartridges use Federal's signature TSJ polymer-encapsulated bullet to help eliminate metal fouling, as well as reduce barrel heat and friction. Also common to all three is the Catalyst primer, which provides reliable ignition without using lead.

Starting with the .38 Spl. offering, it has a 148-grain bullet. MSRP is $30.99. (All three calibers come in 50-round boxes.)

As for the new .380 Auto Syntech Range cartridge, it has a 95-grain bullet. MSRP is $30.99.

Finally, the 10 mm Auto cartridge in Federal's Syntech Range lineup sports a 205-grain bullet. MSRP is $36.99.

Although we haven't spent any range time with any of the new cartridges yet, if they are anything like the others in the Syntech lineup, they will certainly please target shooters as well as plinkers. Plus, Federal has competitively priced the Syntech line, and the cartridges are safer to shoot on steel targets with bullets that minimize splashback.
