Put a suppressor on a gas gun like an AR-10 and it takes a beating. Banish Suppressors designed its new HD 762 INC with exactly that in mind. The dedicated 7.62 mm NATO/.308 Win. can is the second entry in the company’s Heavy Duty line after the HD 556 INC, and like its smaller sibling it’s rated for sustained full-auto fire. Banish only puts the HD name on suppressors built for hard use and heavy fire rates.

Most of that toughness comes down to metal. Banish 3D prints the whole suppressor from 718 Inconel, a nickel-chromium superalloy that holds up under heat that would weaken most steels. Jet engine makers use it for the same reason. Additive manufacturing also gives designers room to shape internal gas passages that would be a headache to machine.

Inside are nine baffles and eight helical vents. Together they move expanding gas through the suppressor on a set path, which keeps pressure from stacking up behind the baffles and pushing back into the rifle. Banish says that happens without any loss in sound or flash suppression.

Flat Dark Earth Cerakote is the second finish option for the 6.7-inch, 15.9-ounce HD 762 INC suppressor.

The HD 762 INC is also smaller than you might expect: 6.7 inches long, 1.65 inches in diameter and 15.9 ounces without a mount. Given how heavy Inconel is, coming in a hair less than a pound for a full-auto-rated can is a solid result.

Cartridge range runs from 5.56 mm NATO to .300 RUM, with no barrel-length restrictions. SBR owners will appreciate that last part, since some suppressors carry minimum barrel lengths for certain loads. Banish also says the HD 762 INC is compatible with high-pressure cartridges such as Federal’s 6.5 Creedmoor +Peak and 7 mm Backcountry. AR-10s and 6 mm AR-15 builds are obvious homes for it, and gas-operated precision rifles aren’t far behind.

Banish’s internal testing measured an average of 135.7 dB at the shooter’s ear using supersonic .308 Win. through a 16-inch AR-10. With subsonic .300 Blackout out of a 16-inch AR, the average fell to 126.2 dB.

A 5/8x24 direct-thread mount comes in the box. The suppressor uses HUB threads, so it works with all the major quick-detach mounting systems. There’s also 1.9 inches of space to the first baffle, enough to clear full-length muzzle brakes and flash hiders.

The two finish choices are Black and Flat Dark Earth Cerakote. The HD 762 INC is made in the U.S. and carries Banish’s lifetime warranty, which covers manufacturing defects and damage from normal use. Since the baffles are printed in place, the suppressor doesn’t come apart. Only the mount is removable, and Banish recommends a 24-hour soak every 500 to 600 rounds. Owners can also send it through the Banish Service Program for a comprehensive maintenance check within the first year.
