Trijicon has added a Coyote Brown anodized finish to its RMR HD reflex sight, giving shooters a second color option for the largest-window version of the company’s RMR.
Introduced in 2023, the RMR HD builds on the RMR Type 2 by pairing its proven housing with features drawn from Trijicon’s Specialized Reflex Optic, or SRO, most notably a wider field of view. Its enlarged window uses tempered glass, which makes the reticle easier to pick up as the pistol comes on target. Shooters can switch between a 55-MOA segmented circle surrounding a center dot or the dot by itself. Two dot sizes are offered, 1.0 MOA and 3.25 MOA.
A forward-facing light sensor reads conditions at the target rather than at the shooter’s position and adjusts reticle brightness to match, including when a gun-mounted light is in use. For those who prefer to set it themselves, nine manual brightness levels are available through oversized adjustment buttons. Battery changes are simple, too. A CR2032 loads from the top of the housing, so there’s no need to remove the optic or confirm zero again afterward.
Trijicon machines the RMR HD from forged 7075-T6 aluminum using its patented impact-resistant housing design, and the sight is rated waterproof to 66 feet. It retains the original RMR mounting footprint, so it works with existing RMR mounting solutions, and the RMR HD is also designed to fit many optics-ready duty holsters.
Both RMR HD Coyote Brown models carry a retail price of $1,066. Model RMHD1-C-3200012 pairs the 55-MOA adjustable reticle with a 1.0-MOA dot, while RMHD2-C-3200013 uses a 3.25-MOA dot.
