Smith & Wesson has introduced the Performance Center M&P 10 mm M2.0 Carry Comp, a handgun that incorporates targeted improvements aimed at enhancing shooting performance. This model features a PowerPort barrel, optics-ready slide and design elements intended to improve recoil management and shooting accuracy.

Chambered in 10 mm Auto with a 15+1 capacity, the M&P 10 mm M2.0 Carry Comp is designed to cover a wide range of roles, from personal protection and home defense to use as a field sidearm. This striker-fired pistol is built on Smith & Wesson’s M&P 2.0 polymer frame, with an 18-degree grip angle intended to promote a natural point of aim. Four interchangeable palmswell grip inserts allow the grip to be tailored without changing the overall geometry.

Smith & Wesson’s Carry Comp system uses a strategically placed PowerPort at the twelve o’clock position at the end of the 4-inch barrel. As the gun fires, gases vent upward, counteracting muzzle rise and reducing felt recoil. The barrel itself is stainless steel with a 1:10 inch twist and an Armornite finish, matching the ported stainless steel slide that also wears an Armornite coating.

The slide features aggressively angled front and rear serrations intended to aid manipulation under less than ideal conditions.

Optics readiness is standard, but Smith & Wesson has gone a step further with its ClearSight design. The slide cut is shaped to divert gases away from a mounted optic, helping maintain a clear view during firing. Shooters who prefer iron sights are covered as well, with an Ameriglo Trooper front night sight paired with a blacked out, serrated U notch rear.

Trigger design leans toward repeatability rather than novelty. The flat face trigger is meant to encourage consistent finger placement from shot to shot, a key detail that can make accuracy easier to reproduce, especially with the sharper recoil impulse of 10 mm Auto ammunition.

Dimensionally, the Carry Comp measures 7.25 inches in length, 5.2 inches in height and 1.3 inches in width, with an unloaded weight of 27 ounces. Additionally, the pistol ships with two 15 round magazines.

Finished in black and built by Smith & Wesson’s Performance Center, the M&P 10 mm M2.0 Carry Comp carries an MSRP of $1,299. More information is available directly from Smith & Wesson.
