Joseph Fanizzi missed 14 targets in the Main Event at the 2026 Federal Diamond Classic. Nobody else missed less than 20.

His 186 of 200 at Greater Houston Sports Club, where the Sept. 17-20 tournament drew 524 shooters, gave Fanizzi High Overall (HOA) and his fifth career Diamond Classic HOA title. Gebben Miles and Michael Luongo tied at 180, with Miles placing second and Luongo third.

A 97 of 100 in Super Sporting gave Fanizzi a second title before he left Houston.

Both wins came with a Beretta A400 L Sporting, a gas-operated semi-automatic, in a game where the top of the leaderboard usually belongs to over-unders. Beretta built the gun as a clays-dedicated version of its A400 platform, pairing the company'=’s B-Link gas system with a Steelium Plus barrel.

Fanizzi was the headliner, but three Team Beretta teammates also reached the podium in Houston. Meagan Grossi finished second in Main Event Lady with 164 of 200. Desirae Edmunds, who also shoots the A400 L Sporting, was five targets back at 159 for third.

Edmunds kept adding hardware from there. She placed third in Super Sporting Lady and won the Prelim Lady title, the most productive weekend of any Team Beretta shooter at the event.

Dominic Grossi took care of the Sporting Lite program, winning HOA there and adding a third-place finish in 5-Stand.

“Joseph’s fifth HOA title is an incredible accomplishment, and his performance with the A400 L Sporting is another great example of what this platform can deliver at the highest level of sporting clays,” said Ricardo Olivieri, Beretta USA’s head of luxury and competition.
