Federal Ammunition is continuing its support of the Minnesota State Trapshooting Championships by serving as a Platinum-Level Sponsor. The 2024 Minnesota State High School Trapshooting Championship—led by the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League and sanctioned by the USA Clay Target League—will be held at the Alexandria Shooting Park in Alexandria, Minnesota, June 10-18.

Approximately 350 high school teams and more than 8,000 student-athletes will compete at the 2024 Minnesota State High School Trapshooting Championship at the Alexandria Shooting Park in Alexandria, Minn., June 10-18.

“This is one of the largest trapshooting events in the world, and we congratulate all the shooters who worked hard all year. Federal also thanks all the parents and others who supported these athletes in their sport,” Federal’s Shotshell Product Director Dan Compton said. “We’ve backed shooting sports programs across the country for decades, and it’s a great honor to support the largest program in our home state.”

More than 350 high school teams and approximately 8,000 student-athletes are expected to compete at this year’s nine-day event in June. Each team is assigned a tournament day as determined by their class and conference designation (Novice, Junior Varsity and Varsity). This allows all teams and student-athletes to complete the competition on a single day, simultaneously allowing competition among teams of similar size. A student-athlete’s 100-target score is used for both individual and team competitions.

Last year, the Minnesota State High School Trapshooting Championship boasted some big attendance numbers—with 8,119 student-athletes from 333 high school teams competing at the match.

USA High School Clay Target League student-athletes concluded this year’s nine-week spring season in May. The league’s top student-athletes are eligible to compete at the 2024 USA High School Clay Target League National Championship in Michigan this July. Additionally, the USA Clay Target League will hold its first Collegiate Trapshooting National Championship in Illinois this November.

Federal Ammunition is a strong supporter of youth sport shooting.

“We look forward to being among the thousands of student-athletes and spectators from all across the state attending this event. Our employees will be at the championship event with a large display to answer any questions attendees may have about our products and programs,” Compton said. “We will also have some great branded gear for sale to showcase our shooting sports heritage and Minnesota state pride. We will also display some new products, including shooting bags, shotshell pouches and gun cases released to the marketplace this year.”
