GUNS.COM today announced its sponsorship of the non-profit USA Clay Target League.

The company chose to become a National Sponsor of the USA Clay Target League to help provide students and schools across the country the opportunity to participate in America’s outdoor heritage.

Last year, nearly 50,000 student-athletes participated in USA Clay Target League activities. The organization bills itself as the only 100 percent school-approved youth clay target shooting sport program in America.

GUNS.COM is an online retailer for firearms, ammunition, magazines and other gear, along with providing firearm-related news, analysis and reviews.

“The USA Clay Target League is the best thing going in youth shooting sports today,” William Altherr, a spokesman for GUNS.COM said. “No organization is working harder to expand outdoor shooting sports opportunities to students and their schools, and certainly no organization could be safer. That’s why GUNS.COM really is proud to be a National Sponsor for the League.”

The USA Clay Target League offers trap, skeet, sporting clays and five-stand leagues to secondary and postsecondary schools across the country. This year, the USA Clay Target League anticipates 53,000 student-athletes will participate in its programs.

“The League is very gratified to have GUNS.COM as a supporter,” John Nelson, president of the USA Clay League said. “National Sponsors like GUNS.COM are visionaries that understand the constant need to support and cultivate the next generation of outdoor shooting sports enthusiasts. Every year more than 10,000 new students join the League, and they depend on the support of thousands of coaches and team volunteers. By supporting the USA Clay Target League, GUNS.COM is making that happen.”
