SIG Sauer conducted the inaugural P365 EDC Championship presented by the U.S. Conceal Carry Association on the grounds of the SIG Sauer Academy in Epping, N.H., on July 21-24.

SIG P365 EDC Match, New Hampshire
The first stage that greeted competitors at the match was Scott's Garage.

The P365 EDC Championship included 13 stages and, as the name implies, participation in the match required a SIG Sauer P365 pistol. The stages challenged shooters with a scenario-based course-of-fire.

At the match, competitors were grouped in four divisions: Open (modified P365 pistol that can be outfitted with aftermarket gear), Carry Optics (stock P365 series pistol with mounted optic only) and Stock P365XL and Stock P365 (no modifications to either the firearm or magazine).

The results of the P365 EDC Championship were determined using the Lewis Scoring Method.

With a final score of 107.26, Mason Lane secured the Open division title and his time was the best out of all competitors in the 130-shooter field. Not only did Lane win nine stages in Open outright, but his final score also netted him the High Industry shooter award. Brian Nelson finished second in Open with 126.87.

Zach Smith won the Carry Optics division with a score of 141.43 and no penalties. Smith's best stage was No. 10 "Post Office," where he scored 8.74, the high mark for the stage among Carry Optics shooters. James Cantrell finished second in the division with a score of 148.74.

As for the Stock P365XL division, the top shot was the one and only Phil Strader, who had a final score of 120.23. In addition, Strader's score placed him behind Open champion Mason Lane in the overall results. His scores were the highest in his division for six stages. Second place in Stock P365XL went to Edward Stettmeier with 134.28.

The Stock P365 title went to USPSA Grand Master Shannon Smith, who completed the match with a final score of 138.58. In his division, Smith won five stages. Smith's final score was also good for sixth place overall when all divisions are combined. The Stock P365 runner-up spot went to Andrew Marocchini with a score of 150.55.

Here is what SIG's Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Tom Taylor, had to say about the first-ever SIG P365 EDC Championship.

“Congratulations to all the competitors and top finishers. This was a fantastic inaugural event that challenged 130 competitors to run a scenario-based course-of-fire putting their marksmanship, competition and concealed carry skills to the test with the game-changing P365 everyday carry pistol. We are looking forward to making the P365 EDC Championship an annual competition and growing the event as we continue to expand the depth of the P365 series of pistols.”
