A regular backpack can be handy at a Precision Rifle Series or NRL Hunter match, but if you want one that can actually fit all your gear, a dedicated competition shooting backpack is a better way to go. MDT’s new Champion backpack is a mobile workstation, allowing shooters to stay organized during a competition.

MDT dropped its new Champion backpack at SHOT Show 2025 in Las Vegas in January. Purpose-built for long gun competition, it was designed from the ground up with features that PRS and NRL Hunter competitive shooters want in a backpack.

Probably the best thing about the MDT Champion backpack is that you can open it up and organize it any way you want. For starters, there’s a work area on the backpack’s lid that you can organize any way you want. Velcro is available inside the backpack, which allows for customization. There is also enough room inside the backpack to hold a 100-round MTM Case-Gard reloading box.

The removable shelf is solid enough that you won’t have any issues with anything heavy falling to the bottom. Additionally, there are plenty of MOLLE attachment points on the MDT Champion backpack, along with a pouch that can hold your smartphone.

One strap is designed to go around the top of your tripod head, allowing you to add weight to your tripod and work while you’re standing. And if you want, you can also set the backpack on the ground, as it’s designed to stand up vertically.

The bottom of the backpack features more room for your bags, tools or any other accessories you don’t need to access frequently. Also located on the bottom is a pocket that you can use for a rain fly during rainy matches.

MSRP for the MDT Champion backpack is $299.95. This backpack is available in two colors, Grey or Coyote. Learn more at mdttac.com.
