Range USA has completed a redesign of every store in its chain, rebuilding the way customers browse handguns, compare optics and check in for range time.

At the center of the refresh is a self-service handgun display that lets shoppers pick up and compare best-selling models without flagging down an associate or waiting at the gun counter. Each display holds roughly 20 deactivated handguns from Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Springfield Armory, Canik and Taurus, including several fitted with red dots.

A long gun tower is also new to the floor, holding as many as 32 shotguns and rifles across bolt-action, semi-automatic and lever-action designs. Both displays will rotate as new products reach the market.

Optics got the largest proportional bump. Every location has doubled its in-store optics count, housed in a new custom case that sets red dots and riflescopes side by side.

Range operations were reworked as well. Check-in counters have been reconfigured, and a checkout fixture now wraps the counter with magazines, cleaning supplies and other items shooters tend to remember they need on the way to a lane. New signage points customers toward online order pickup and separates range check-in from retail checkout, which should help during weekend and holiday rushes.

Cincinnati-based Range USA is the country’s largest indoor range operator and firearm retailer, with 50 locations across 14 states. Founded in 2012 as Shoot Point Blank, the company rebranded in 2021 and has since built a growth model around clean, well-lit stores and heavy staffing of certified Range Safety Officers. Three additional locations are planned for 2026.

“Whether someone is purchasing their first firearm, comparing optics or heading to the range for practice, these enhancements give customers greater flexibility to explore our products,” said Jimmy McManus, Range USA’s chief operating officer.
