OROVILLE, Calif. (Mar. 17, 2026) — Case trimming is the reloading step that rewards consistency more than any other. A case mouth that varies by even a few thousandths of an inch changes neck tension, which changes bullet release, which changes point of impact at distance. RCBS and Henderson Precision built the MatchMaster Precision Case Trimmer around that premise, and two new accessories announced this week push the platform’s reach further up the caliber spectrum while making caliber changeovers faster at the bench.

The first addition is a .338-caliber pilot ($9.99) that extends the MatchMaster’s compatibility from its original .22-to-.30-cal. range up to popular .338 cartridges including the .338 Lapua Magnum and .338 Norma Magnum. The pilot is machined to the same tolerances as the existing seven pilots in the kit and maintains the concentricity that the trimmer’s collet system is designed to preserve.

Second is a pilot-free 3-Way Cutter Head ($74.99). The MatchMaster kit ships with a cutter head and seven pilots that swap in and out, but reloaders who work across multiple calibers in a single session know the friction: remove one pilot, install the next and confirm seating. A second cutter head with a different pilot already installed eliminates one of those steps. For reloaders processing .308 Win. and 6.5 mm Creedmoor in the same afternoon, having two heads pre-set means the changeover is a swap rather than a teardown.

The MatchMaster itself is a motorized case trimmer co-developed with Henderson Precision and built on the foundation of Henderson’s Tri-Trim Gen 3. RCBS added a micrometer length adjustment that dials to .001 of an inch, a high-speed motor, a containment guard, a brass catcher bin, an upgraded carriage and a redesigned motor mount and base plate. The 3-Way Cutter Head trims, chamfers and deburrs in a single pass using carbide blades, which means one operation produces a finished case mouth rather than requiring three separate tools or steps. The trimmer handles cases from 1.36 to 2.85 inches in length across calibers from .22 to .338, and mounts to the RCBS Accessory Base Plate or any standard bench surface.

As for the frame, it’s machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and 303/416 stainless steel and manufactured in the United States. The complete MatchMaster Precision Case Trimmer kit ($774.99) ships with the trimmer, motor, mounting bracket, brass catcher, one 3-Way Cutter Head with a .22-cal. pilot, six additional pilots in .24, .25, .26, .27, .28 and .30 cal. and a No. 1 collet that covers the most common cartridge families including .223 Rem., .308 Win., 6.5 mm Creedmoor and .300 Win. Mag. Three additional collets ($16.99 each) are available separately for cartridges outside the No. 1 collet’s diameter range, including .338 Lapua Mag.
