Five years in, Remington’s Shoot to Cure has turned a Friday of sporting clays in Lonoke, Arkansas, into more than $70,000 for Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
This year’s edition, held Sept. 18 at Remington Gun Club, put 150 shooters on 30 teams and raised nearly $15,000. All proceeds go to the hospital to support disease research and help children in need.
Two of the biggest names on the course shot on the same squad. Kayle Browning, the Wooster, Arkansas, native who earned Olympic silver in women’s trap at the Tokyo Games, joined Team Remington’s Madison Sharpe on an all-women’s team. Browning shoots for Federal Ammunition. Sharpe won the women’s title in the Main Event at the 2026 Browning Briley this past April.
“These two women are prominent competitors in their field who represent the United States and ammo brands at the highest levels of shooting sports,” said Kris Carson, who directs Remington Gun Club and organizes the event. “They are both highly accomplished shooters, and it was exciting to watch them shoot at this event.”
The top team finishes went to area corporate squads United Health, Team Throckmorton and Team M&P.
Remington Gun Club has been open since 1978 and sits beside the company’s ammunition plant, with fields for trap, skeet, sporting clays and five-stand.
Shooters who couldn’t make the trip to Lonoke can still contribute. Remington added Gun Club Cure target loads to its Gun Club line in 2022, with a portion of sales going to children’s hospitals and disease research. Learn more at remington.com.
