The micro-compact handgun market continues to grow in popularity for those who concealed carry. In 2022, Smith & Wesson debuted a new micro-compact handgun with its CSX chambered in 9 mm Luger and featuring an aluminum alloy frame. Now an upgraded version called the CSX E-Series has launched, which Smith & Wesson says “is the next evolution in the CSX line.”

Available in four configurations all chambered in 9 mm Luger, the CSX E-Series lineup includes options like a 3.1-inch or 3.6-inch barrel, along with two models that have 12-, 15- and 17-round magazines and two 10-round compliant variants.

Smith & Wesson CSX E-Series pistols are also optics-ready, using the RMS-C/507K footprint. Additionally, these pistols now include Smith & Wesson’s ClearSight cut, which according to Smith & Wesson, are “designed to strategically divert gasses away from the optic lens, leaving an unobstructed view.”

The CSX E-Series uses a new modular grip adapter that allows you to size down their frame for deep concealment or size up for better handling and increased capacity. Also, regarding the frame, it sports a flat-black finish.

An enhanced trigger—the E-Series trigger—has a light and clean break, with improved reset and a straighter pull to the rear, which should help with accuracy.

More features included on the new CSX E-Series interchangeable backstraps, ambidextrous controls and standard white-dot sights.

MSRP is $699 for all four models in the Smith & Wesson CSX E-Series lineup. Go to smith-wesson.com.
