The U.S. Goodwill Randle Team earned a hard-fought victory over Team Great Britain at the historic Bisley Range in Surrey, England, winning the 2025 Goodwill Randle Match by a margin of eight points on the Brits’ home soil on August 16. This win marks another milestone in the ongoing international smallbore rifle rivalry between the two nations.

Top performances for the U.S. came from Sarah Beard and Deena Wigger McDorman, each posting scores of 393, closely followed by Megan Hilbish with a score of 392. Great Britain’s Wendy Foith led her team with an impressive 394—the highest individual score of the match.

The U.S. team, composed entirely of women, was led by Team Captain Barbara Hampson and Coach Edie Fleeman. The 2025 roster included Abi Winegarden, Megan Hilbish, Ginger McLemore, Sarah Beard, Julie Latzgo, Deena Wigger McDorman, Avery Hines, Michelle Bohren, Celeste Green Leinberger and Chris Rakyta. In addition, Patti Clark served as the official scoring observer.

Notably, Michelle Bohren continued her unbroken streak as a team member, having represented the U.S. on every Goodwill Randle Team to date.

Shooting at 50-meter and 100-yard distances, the Goodwill Randle Match is a shoulder-to-shoulder smallbore rifle competition, held every four years in conjunction with the U.S. Roberts Team’s international schedule. When hosted in the U.S., the match coincides with the Pershing Trophy Match; in the U.K., it is conducted alongside the Roberts Trophy Match under the oversight of the National Small-Bore Rifle Association of Great Britain.

This longstanding tradition celebrates marksmanship and international friendship, with team members volunteering their time to represent the United States on the world stage.
