Competition began at the young age of ten for Quentin Cauffman when he began the 4-H program. Quentin competed in many different events such as Archery, Air Pistol, Air Rifle, and Shotgun. From 4-H, he developed a drive to further himself in competitive shooting sports.

Quentin has quite an impressive list of accomplishments. He won state titles through 4-H competitions, is an eight-time All-American and a contributing member to the three-time NRA Collegiate Pistol Champion Ohio State Pistol Team. As an Ohio State three-year varsity letter winner, Quentin has been given the opportunity to coach 4-H and other youth.

For competition, Quentin uses Wolf standard velocity ammunition and a Mark 2 Ruger .22-bullseye addition and a Colt 1911 Giles .45 to his local competitions. He carries his equipment in a Strong Case SRC-1608 Aluminum 3-Gun Pistol Box. Although it’s a little heavy, he loves the versatility, space and sturdiness of the box. Besides his pistol, he can fit ammunition, a scope, cleaning supplies, extra CBI’s, magazines, dry fire plugs, oil, and a stopwatch.

During his free time, Quentin loves working with kids through his local 4-H program and in camp settings. Currently he works at Camp High Rocks, a summer camp where he counsels young men in outdoor activities.

Quentin loves sharing his sport with others and would be more than happy to talk to anyone about it. Whenever given the chance, he tries to promote his sport so others can hear about opportunities the shooting sports can provide.

For those who are new to the shooting sports, Quentin reminds them that everyone has to start somewhere. He loves to go back to all his local 4-H Shooting Sports programs and tell them how just 10 years ago he was in their shoes and just look at him now! Quentin believes if you want it bad enough you will succeed, no matter what.

As for Quentin, when he feels the need to humble himself, from time to time he brings out his 747 Daisy Air Pistol. His sister now uses it and hopes to progress like he did in the sport. I’m certain with the support of a big brother like Quentin she is sure to succeed.
