Letters on the tube spell it out. VRMT. Varmint. BANISH didn’t bury the point of its newest suppressor.
The VRMT 223K Ti is a .224-caliber can built small on purpose, the kind of thing that lives on a truck gun or a ranch rifle and gets reached for when a coyote turns up across the field. At 4.7 inches long and 8 ounces, it barely changes the balance of a bolt gun, which is the entire idea.
“My love of suppressors stemmed from experiences predator and varmint hunting,” said Brandon Maddox, founder and CEO of BANISH Suppressors. “That’s why I’m so excited about the new VRMT 223K Ti. It is perfect for hunting in heavy cover or for keeping on the truck gun in case you see a coyote across the field, those times when you want a short, quick handling, yet fully suppressed rifle.”
The can is titanium, which is how BANISH holds it to 8 ounces, and it measures 1.5 inches across. It threads on with a 1/2x28 direct-thread mount rather than a quick-detach system, a choice that trims both length and weight while staying compatible with most small-caliber and rimfire hosts. Inside there are five baffles that stack and index, so pulling it apart to clean and putting it back together stays quick, which matters more than it sounds on a rimfire can that eats a lot of dirty ammo.
Despite the 223 in the name, it is not a one-cartridge tool. BANISH rates it for every .224-cal. cartridge and smaller, rimfire included, which stretches the range from .17 HMR all the way up to .22 Creedmoor. The company says sound reduction averages more than 25.9 db, and on a 20-inch bolt-action .223, it pulled the report down to 129.5 dB. For context, the commonly cited line for hearing-safe is around 140 dB, so that number leaves real margin.
The VRMT 223K Ti carries a $679 MSRP and the BANISH lifetime warranty, and it comes in black or FDE Cerakote. Available now through BANISH retailers, learn more at banishsuppressors.com.
