Alliant Powder has announced new Red Dot and Green Dot reloading powders. The company will be launching the improved propellants during the 2018 SHOT Show at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, NV, later this month.

The company says the improved Red Dot powder burns “significantly cleaner and offers better flow characteristics.” This is all while keeping the same clay-crushing performance that scattergun shooters have trusted since 1932. Red Dot is optimized for 12-gauge target loads, and offers Alliant Powder’s legendary lot-to-lot consistency.

Enhanced Green Dot is optimized for handicap trap loads―yet versatile enough for a variety of target and field applications. It also has Alliant Powder’s famous lot-to-lot consistency. The improved formulation burns clean, with precise burn rates that produce dense, uniform patterns, as well as reducing felt recoil.

Both of these powders are proudly made right here in the United States.

“Alliant Powder offers shooters even more consistent and cleaner-burning performance with the release of these improved products,” said Brian Anderson, senior marketing manager for Alliant Powder. He added, “The original high-performance clay target powders just got even better.”

Both Red Dot and Green Dot will be available in three sizes; one-, four- and eight-pound bottles. Pricing for both of the new propellants in the three available sizes are as follows:

  • Red Dot or Green Dot one-pound container ― $25
  • Red Dot or Green Dot four-pound container ― $90
  • Red Dot or Green Dot eight-pound container ― $170
