Amanda Elsenboss Wins 2021 Canadian Cup Match

SSG Amanda Elsenboss of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard team took the top spot at the 2021 Canadian Cup Match. Her score of 798-36X was four points ahead of the runner-up, SSG Erin McNeil of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit.

The match was held August 15–19 as part of the 2021 NRA Long-Range National Championships at Camp Atterbury, Ind., the new home of the NRA National Matches.

Classified as a High Master in NRA Long-Range, Elsenboss also took second place in the hunt for the Tompkins Trophy, scoring 1245-69X in the grand aggregate at the 2021 NRA Long-Range Nationals. Previously, she competed with the AMU and was also the 2019 NRA Long-Range National Champion.

In second place was the aforementioned SSG Erin McNeil with a score of 792-40X. During Nationals this summer, she also won the Remington Trophy Match. McNeil is unclassified in NRA Long-Range, which means until she receives her classification, she's grouped with Marksman shooters.

Finishing third in this year's Canadian Cup Match was LTC Aaron Grimm of the Army National Guard with a score of 791-45X. Grimm is classified as a High Master.

As for the special awards, High Senior went to John Updike with 787-38X. In addition, Jon Rhynard secured the High Grand Senior title with a score of 779-23X.

At Camp Atterbury this year, SSG Amanda Elsenboss had a feline good luck charm.


A silver tankard with hinged cover, the Canadian Cup was presented to the NRA at the 1976 Palma Match at Camp Perry by the Dominion of Canada Rifle Association. The Canadian Cup was first awarded at the 1977 National Championship. Currently, it is goes to the winner of an aggregate at the NRA National Matches that is comprised from the Remington Trophy, Mustin Trophy, Leech Cup and Wimbledon Cup match results.
