Applications are now open for the 2027 NRA Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.), an all-expenses-paid, six-day leadership and scholarship program that brings exceptional high school students from across the country to Washington, D.C., each summer.

The Y.E.S. program gives rising high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to step beyond the classroom and experience American government, history and the Constitution firsthand. Throughout the week, students engage with national leaders, explore the institutions and landmarks of Washington, D.C., participate in debates and compete for up to $40,000 in college scholarships.

Y.E.S. encourages students to develop a deeper understanding of the foundations of American government and the Bill of Rights while preparing them to become active, informed citizens and leaders in their communities.

During the six-day NRA Youth Education Summit, students will have the opportunity to:

  • Compete for up to $40,000 in college scholarships
  • Participate in debates and discussions on current issues
  • Visit historic sites and institutions throughout Washington, D.C.
  • Meet with NRA leadership and other influential leaders
  • Practice marksmanship at the NRA Range

The 2027 NRA Youth Education Summit will take place from Jul. 27 to Aug. 1, 2027, in Washington, D.C.

The Y.E.S. application process is designed to identify students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, community involvement and a strong interest in government, history and the Second Amendment.

Applicants must submit a completed application, high school transcript, three-page essay on the Second Amendment, one-page personal statement, three letters of recommendation and participate in a virtual interview.

Ready to take the next step? Applications for the 2027 NRA Youth Education Summit are now open. Visit yes.nra.org to learn more and begin the application process. The deadline to apply is Sunday, Jan. 10, 2027.

If you know an outstanding rising high school junior or senior who would thrive in this experience, encourage them to apply.
