This month, Hillsdale College is hosting the USA Shooting Junior Olympic Development Shotgun Camp. The three-day all-inclusive camp gives athletes from ages 12–20 the opportunity to hone their skills on Hillsdale’s newly expanded shotgun range with current and former U.S. National Shotgun Team members.

Both skeet and bunker sessions are included at this year's camp, which kicked off Sunday, Jun. 13, and will continue through Thursday, Jun. 24.

The instructional staff includes Coaches Jay Waldron, Lance Bade and Joe Buffa, along with past and present National Team members and Olympians such as Corey Cogdell-Unrein, Morgan Craft, Frank Thompson, Aeriel Skinner, Caitlin Conner, Nic Moschetti, Will Hinton, Glenn Eller and Derrick Mein.

Hillsdale College’s John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center has a state-of-the-art range that covers approximately 113 acres—boasting four international skeet fields, five Olympic bunkers and a 22-station sporting clays course.

Here is what National Team Coach Jay Waldron had to say about the camp at Hillsdale College.

“It’s always been a vision of the shotgun program to involve veteran team members to help mentor and develop the next generation of competitors. Hillsdale’s commitment to building world-class facilities and their partnership with USA Shooting is making that a reality.”

Immediately following the camp, USA Shooting and Hillsdale College will host the 2021 National Shotgun Junior Olympics, the first to be held at Hillsdale’s Halter Center.
