Koenig walked away from the 2025 Crawfish Cup with a pair of perfect scores: 1920-170X in the Regional (ranking him in fourth place after a tight contest) and 1920-173X in the Louisiana State Championship, placing him firmly at the top of the leaderboard.

“The 2025 Crawfish Cup was a fun and challenging match,” Koenig said.

He was shooting Hornady’s .38-caliber 110-grain XTP bullets.

“I trust the performance of Hornady XTP bullets, so I can simply focus on executing my stage plan,” Koenig added. “The consistency and accuracy from the XTP are vital to performing at the highest level.”

As for Bruce Piatt, his final score in the 2025 Crawfish Cup Regional Championship was 1920-178X, which gave him the top spot and Regional title.

He noted how close the final standings were in the Regional Championship, with four shooters—himself, Doug Koenig, Benito Martinez and Walter Johnson—all firing 1920 scores. As such, the results were decided by the X-count.

Piatt was only one X ahead of the runner-up, Sgt. 1st Class Walter Johnson of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit. In addition, Johnson was only one X ahead of Benito Martinez, who finished in third place.

“The 2025 Zero Bullets Crawfish Cup kicked off my season in style,” Piatt said on a social media post. “A tight race to the finish with four perfect 1920 scores being posted. One X separating each of the top three. My 178X placed me on top for another Crawfish Cup title. George Mowbray and the entire match staff once again did an outstanding job hosting this event. Congratulations to all the other winners and I look forward to seeing you all at the Bianchi Cup in three weeks.”

At the 2025 Crawfish Cup, there was a total of 61 shooters competing in the Louisiana State Championship, plus 67 entrants in the Regional competition.
