MALVERN, Ohio — Logan Frost of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit is the 2026 NRA National High Power Long-Range Champion. Frost posted a 1241-61X aggregate across five days of competition at Alliance Rifle Club to claim the Tompkins Trophy, the most prestigious award in American long-range prone rifle shooting. It was a dominant week for the USAMU shooter, who also won the Wimbledon Cup and captained the team that took the Herrick Trophy.

The championship ran May 19-23 at Alliance Rifle Club in Malvern, Ohio. All individual matches were fired from the prone position at distances out to 1,000 yards using Shot Marker electronic targets. The program featured competition for Service Rifle, Any Rifle and Palma Rifle across 13 individual and team matches, with shoot-offs held for each historic NRA trophy.

Kim Rowe finished second in the Tompkins Trophy aggregate with 1239-78X, just two points behind Frost but with 17 more Xs. Frost’s USAMU teammate Zevin Linse took third at 1239-58X. The Tompkins Trophy is the overall long-range championship aggregate, combining scores from the Remington and Mustin matches on Tuesday, one match each from the Wednesday and Thursday individual trios and the Palma Individual on Friday.

If Frost owned the aggregate, Rowe owned the individual trophy matches. She won the Leech Cup after a shoot-off against Dusty Carr, 100.6 to 98.4. The Leech Cup is the oldest trophy in competitive target shooting in the United States, established in 1874 and awarded to long-range shooters in a 20-shot match at 1,000 yards with metallic sights. It features a distinctive design topped with a ruined Irish tower and remains one of the most coveted prizes in the sport. Rowe also took the Remington “Band of Brothers” Trophy after winning yet another shoot-off, this time besting Aaron Grimm 100.8 to 99.4. Joe Bakies finished third in the Remington.

Frost’s Wimbledon Cup victory came in the marquee individual event of the week—a 20-shot match at 1,000 yards for Any Rifle with no restrictions on sights. Larry Sollars took second and Aaron Grimm finished third. On the Palma Rifle side, Jason Epperly claimed the “Doc” Aiken Memorial Trophy, with Linse second and Joe Bakies third. David Kerin won the Andrus Trophy for Palma Rifle, followed by Richard Ford and Jerry McDonough.

Friday’s Palma Individual Trophy Match tested competitors across three distances—15 record shots each at 800, 900 and 1,000 yards with a 22-minute time limit per stage. Brandon Green took the win with 450-24X. Joe Bakies was second at 449-32X and Charles Rowe third at 449-31X, separated by a single X on an otherwise identical score.

Larry Sollars won the Canadian Cup for Any Rifle with 794-42X. Frost was second at 793-40X and Rowe third at 792-49X. Zevin Linse claimed the Sierra Trophy for Palma Rifle with 790-31X, followed by Jerry McDonough at 789-39X and Richard Ford at 788-28X.

Team competition ran across three events during the week. USNRT-Gill won the Cowboy Team Trophy in the Palma Team Championship with 1793-99X. Captain and Coach Bob Gill led Jerry McDonough, Avtar Nanrey, David Buckley and Larry Sollars on the team. USAMU-Frost claimed the Herrick Trophy Team Match with 798-26X, as Frost captained a squad that included Coach Ethan Hopkins, John Marshall, Ryan Blackford and Dusty Carr. In addition, USNRT-Green took the Roumanian Team Trophy Match with 796-43X behind Captain Charles Rowe, Coach Brandon Green, Larry Sollars and Kim Rowe.
