At SHOT Show 2026 in Las Vegas last month, Lyman announced the Sonicore suppressor family with a lineup that starts at just under $200 and tops out below $300.

The Sonicore range is based on a suppressor design that has seen decades of use across Europe, where moderation in cost has long been balanced with practical performance. Lyman’s approach has been to take that proven layout and manufacture it domestically, pairing American production and support with a design philosophy that prioritizes durability and straightforward maintenance rather than complexity.

Across the lineup, Sonicore suppressors share a modular architecture that allows users to adjust length and configuration depending on whether compactness or maximum sound reduction is the priority. Aluminum housings are combined with stainless-steel components in areas exposed to the most stress, creating a balance between light weight and longevity. Several models also integrate a muzzle-brake geometry within the suppressor itself, intended to help manage recoil and reduce the tendency for the unit to loosen during extended firing.

At the smallest end of the family is the Skarv 22, a rimfire suppressor designed for both pistols and rifles. Weighing just over three ounces, it is built entirely from aluminum and uses a direct-thread mount compatible with most .22 LR firearms. Its modular construction allows for easy disassembly, an important consideration for rimfire use where fouling builds quickly. With a suggested retail price of $199.95, it sets the tone for the rest of the lineup.

Moving into centerfire rifles, the Rekkr and Paradox models cover .223/5.56 mm and .30-caliber platforms in both direct-thread and over-barrel configurations. Rekkr (MSRP: $299.95) is aimed at higher-volume shooting, with thicker walls and a layout intended to handle sustained firing schedules. Paradox (MSRP: $279.95), by contrast, is tuned for hunting and field use, trimming weight while maintaining effective suppression. Both rely on aluminum baffle modules reinforced with stainless-steel inserts to form a robust internal core.

For centerfire handguns, the Valor 9 rounds out the family as a modular 9 mm pistol suppressor. Priced at $299.95, the Valor 9 ships in a full-length configuration, but allows baffles to be removed to shorten the overall package. An integrated booster piston supports reliable cycling on semi-automatic pistols. Additionally, the Valor 9 suppressor is offered with common thread options to match a wide range of hosts.

All Sonicore suppressors share a subdued black hard-anodized finish and user-serviceable construction, reflecting Lyman’s emphasis on practicality over ornamentation.

By borrowing a mature European design and building it in the U.S., Lyman appears to be betting that simplicity and affordability will resonate with shooters who have previously sat out the suppressor market.
