Springfield Armory has spent 2026 filling out its SA-35 catalog one piece at a time. January brought a polished blued finish to the full-size 4.7-inch pistol, and in April a 4-inch slide and barrel arrived in the original matte blue. On Oct. 6, the company announced the SA-35 4" Polished Blued.

Size and weight match the matte 4-inch gun Shooting Sports USA covered in April. Overall length is 7.1 inches, 0.7 inch shorter than the full-size SA-35, and weight falls 1.7 ounces to 29.8. Height holds at 4.8 inches on both because Springfield cut only the slide and barrel and left the grip frame alone. That keeps the flush-fit magazine at 15 rounds.

Springfield’s revisions target the classic pistol’s best-known irritations. A recontoured hammer ends the bite that spur-hammer Hi-Powers delivered to the web of a high-gripping hand, and an extended thumb safety sweeps off without a shift in grip. Springfield also dropped the magazine disconnect, which lets empty magazines fall free and takes a known source of grit out of the trigger pull. In addition, each trigger is tuned at the factory.

Sights are a white-dot front and a serrated Tactical Rack rear with a forward ledge that can catch a belt or table edge to run the slide one-handed. The 4-inch barrel is cold hammer forged with a 1:10-inch twist and carries the reworked feed ramp Springfield uses across the line for modern defensive hollow points.
