The 900 members of the Beloit Rifle Club located in Beloit, WI, are never at a loss for a shooting event. Founded in 1925, the club’s 62-acre property offers ranges and venues for every shooting enthusiast including: archery, benchrest, cowboy action, high power rifle, pistol, silhouette and trap. The Beloit Rifle Club has proudly hosted the Wisconsin Outdoor Pistol Championship for 35 years, one of the reasons why they were chosen to receive the 2007 Wisconsin Rifle and Pistol Association’s Club of the Year award. Beloit has also played host to the smallbore silhouette championships, NRA Day youth events, Friends of NRA banquets, Women on Target clinics and various 4-H competitions.

The Beloit Rifle Club attract shooters from across the Midwest, including as far away as Chicago.

The club goes out of its way to support the community in a variety of unique ways. The Beloit Rifle Club works closely with the U.S. Marine Corps and local law enforcement organizations, including the Beloit Police SWAT team, opening its doors for practice. The club has hosted U.S. Marine Corps Recruit Training Days, an event designed for those who join the Corps right after high school. Recruits receive basic firearms training with military combat rifles. Additionally, the general public is invited to come participate in the club’s rifle sighting program in the fall and multiple hunter education sessions are held annually.

Through the years a variety of improvements have been made to the clubhouse and indoor range enhancing the Beloit Rifle Club’s capability to host top-notch events. A 40-acre land purchase a decade ago allowed the club to expand its high power and cowboy action ranges.

Jon Nortemann, membership director of the Beloit Rifle Club, says they are always seeking good, quality people to join and speaks highly of Beloit’s members. “Members have put a tremendous amount of sweat equity in the club. We have beautiful facilities, which belong to the members. When you join, you become a part of something that people have put in a lot of time to help create,” said Nortemann.
