After four unforgettable years on the road, the Hunters HD Gold Magical Mystery Tour has officially come to a close. In its place rises something bigger, bolder and built specifically for the competitive shooting community: the Hunters HD Gold Command Center Experience
The new era made its official debut at the Gary “Doc” Welt Memorial Match just outside Clearwater, Florida. What started as a humble idea in 2020 has evolved into a fully equipped, mobile hub designed to support shooters at every major match across the country.
FROM VAN TO VISION
Back in 2020, the Magical Mystery Tour began with a simple setup: an 8-foot workspace in the back of a Mercedes Sprinter van. The goal was straightforward: to showcase custom Hunters HD Gold projects, carry essential tools for on-site firearm repairs and create a welcoming space for shooters to connect. The front of the van doubled as a rolling studio, giving birth to the Hunters HD Gold Behind the Lens podcast. For four successful years, that van became a familiar landmark at USPSA and other shooting events nationwide. At this central meeting point, competitors could grab a coffee, talk gear and share stories.
By mid-2025, the operation had grown. With support from USPSA’s Marketing and Events Coordinator, Jake Martens, Brian Conley expanded into livestream coverage and match commentary. After years of testing different setups, the pieces finally fell into place in late 2025. As Brian spent more time streaming from outside the van than podcasting inside it, he realized it was time for the next evolution.
THE BIG UPGRADE
In November 2025, Brian decided to sell the Sprinter van and invest in a dedicated covered trailer paired with a custom golf cart. The transition happened fast. Within a few weeks, the van was sold, a trailer was ordered from a local dealer just five miles from his home in Pelham, Alabama, and research on golf carts was underway.
It wasn’t easy. Brian admits he felt overwhelmed at first, but a heartfelt conversation with his wife Sherry, who owns Optical Prescription Lab—the company behind the precision and non-prescription lenses in every pair of Hunters HD Gold glasses—sealed the commitment: They would do whatever it took to keep the dream alive.
While the custom trailer was being built, Brian found a pristine 2013 Yamaha golf cart in mint condition. The plan was clear: hardwire all the streaming equipment once and for all—no more loading and unloading heavy gear at every event. Starlink on top, batteries below, cameras and cables cleanly hidden. After weeks of wiring and preparation, the trailer arrived from the manufacturer ready for its interior build-out.
BUILDING THE DREAM
Brian turned to a trusted partner: the team at Audio Creations in Alabama, Mark and Charlie. Known for their high-end car audio work since the wild days of 1990s stereo competitions, they jumped at the challenge. This would be their first-ever trailer customization. They picked up the trailer, brought it to their shop and spent four intensive weeks transforming it.
The result is impressive: a full shelving system, a front-end workbench with additional storage, metal slat walls, upgraded lighting, front and rear cameras and a high-quality stereo system. Every detail was customized with care and creativity.
At the same time, Brian reached out to longtime supporters to fill the Command Center with some of the best the industry had to offer:
Real Avid (through Margaret in Marketing) stocked the front safe area with professional tools and gear for onsite work.
Vortex Optics went even further, naming the Command Center Experience an official Vortex VIP warranty and exchange point. Shooters can now get same-day optic replacements right at the match if their gear fails—no waiting, no shipping.
Ghost Holsters, FPS Holsters, IWI, Speed Beez, LOK Grips, SensGuard, JV Training Accessories and Imperial Roots all committed product displays so competitors could see and handle American-made gear up close.
Jesse James of West Coast Choppers and JJFU Brew signed on to provide free coffee at every event.
POV Nutrition’s Zane added shooter-specific supplements and rations.
Mike Stoker of Super Vel Ammunition ensures competitors can grab needed rounds to finish a stage.
And, of course, the full lineup of Hunters HD Gold, Hunters HD Ruby, and AktiveBlu shooting glasses is always on hand for demos, prescription orders and sales of non-prescription lenses.
A HOME BASE FOR COMPETITIVE SHOOTERS
The Hunters HD Gold Command Center is more than a trailer—it’s a home base for the competitive shooter. Guns (none for sale, but available for loan if yours goes down midmatch), extra magazines from MBX Extreme and Atlas Gun Works, tools, optics support, ammo, nutrition, coffee and expert advice are all in one place.
Brian will be on site early each morning, serving free JJFU Brew and welcoming shooters until around 9:30–10:00 a.m. Then he switches into livestream mode on the Hunters HD Gold Rumble channel, broadcasting two-hour morning and afternoon sessions so friends and family back home can experience the action. After streaming, he returns to the Command Center for glasses demos, prescription writing and general support.
ROLLING INTO 2026
At the Gary “Doc” Welt Memorial, everything clicked. Brian, at age 55, pulled a trailer for the first time. He covered more than 1,200 miles, successfully backed it up multiple times and felt the same excitement he had when he first started attending matches in 2018, only now on a much larger scale.
The shooting sports are growing, and the Hunters HD Gold platform is growing with them.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to every partner, sponsor, shooter and member of the Hunters HD Gold family who helped make the Command Center a reality. The Magical Mystery Tour was an incredible chapter, but the Command Center era is just beginning.
We’ll see you at the range in 2026. Come grab a coffee, check out the gear, get your glasses dialed in and be part of the experience.
Welcome to the Hunters HD Gold Command Center Experience, your home at the match.
