USA Shooting: Kissell, Barnick, Peiser Win 2022 ISSF World Junior Men’s 50m Rifle 3-P Team Title

Team USA’s Rylan Kissell, Gavin Barnick and Braden Peiser on October 16 topped the Junior Men’s 50m Rifle 3-Position Team event leaderboard at the 2022 ISSF World Championship in Cairo, Egypt.

Team USA's Rylan Kissell, Gavin Barnick and Braden Peiser won the gold medal in the Junior Men’s 50m Rifle 3-Position Team event at the 2022 ISSF World Championship in Cairo, Egypt, on October 16.

After two qualification rounds, Kissell, Barnick and Peiser were the top-ranked team in the event with a total score of 862-36X. The trio made it to the finals, and ultimately the gold medal match.

The American junior team earned their gold medals after beating the Ukrainian team in the final shoot-off, 16-10.

Kissell, who shoots on the rifle team at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, has earned two additional medals at the 2022 ISSF World Championship. He and Katie Zaun, a Texas Christian University athlete, both captured bronze medals in the Junior 50m Rifle 3-Position Mixed Team event, as well as the Junior 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event.

Barnick, also a rifle athlete at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, placed fourth overall in the Junior Men’s 50m Rifle 3-Position Individual event.

As for Peiser, at the 2021 Junior World Championship he earned a silver medal in the 50m Rifle Prone Mixed Team event, plus a bronze medal in the 50m Rifle 3-Position Men’s Team event.
