Pro shooter Dianna Muller is launching a new academy next year that not only will offer shooting instruction for competitors, but also teaching how to hone communication skills in today’s always-connected world to become champion “brand ambassadors.”

Dubbed the “Ambassador Academy,” it’s a 5-day training class and symposium that aims to empower competitive shooters with the knowledge they need to become true “brand ambassadors.” Essentially, it’s a crash course in how to maximize your value as a professional competitive shooter to corporate sponsors and other interested groups. But, the academy will offer much more than that. The curriculum includes sections on how to effectively utilize social media (including analytics), video editing, on-camera media training for better interviews and podcasts, corporate relations and 2A crisis communications.

“When trying to be a good ambassador, competitive shooters wear many hats,” Muller said. “Not only are we focused on shooting a good match, we’re trying to make sure somebody is taking video, post to social media, etc. That’s why I’m excited to announce the first-ever Ambassador Academy.”

The class will be split between classroom instruction and training at the range. Muller says about 60 percent of the time will be in the classroom and the remainder of the time will be spent at the range. Additionally, there will be a professional photographer on-hand that will take professional headshots, and also action photos and video for each student.

The skills development portion of the course will include 3-Gun, personal protection, concealed carry training, UTM scenarios, low light situation awareness, an introduction to trauma treatment and live fire exercises. Muller says there will also be a force-on-force training scenario—a rare treat for civilian shooters.

This is the first time a class like this for competitive shooters has cropped up. Muller has been planning this course for a long time—recently deciding that there’s no better time than now to get underway, and make the academy a reality.

“I got tired of talking about it, so I pulled the trigger and found a date that worked,” Muller said.

The 2019 session is scheduled for March 30 to April 19 at a private range near Orlando, FL. It’s conveniently scheduled right before the USPSA Multigun Nationals, which will be conducted in Frostproof, FL, about 90 minutes away by car. Muller will walk students through the stages at the USPSA Multigun Nationals, before students apply everything they’ve just learned during the class at the match.

Tuition is pricey at $3,750 per student. This may sound like a lot at first, but think about everything you gain by attending the academy—the on-air camera training, professional headshots and action photography alone is worth the price of admission.

If you’re interested in attending, be sure to act fast, because this first-ever Ambassador Academy is locked at 16 students. For more information, email [email protected] or visit Dianna Muller’s Facebook page.
