New from Springfield Armory is a 10mm option in the 1911 Range Officer Elite Family. The RO Elite Operator 10mm is a premium choice for those looking for a new gun in this fun-to-shoot pistol cartridge.

We call it a premium choice because Springfield has wisely included luxury features, such as a stainless steel, match-grade 5-inch barrel, with a fully supported chamber and 1:16-inch left-hand twist (6-groove). The reinforced barrel showcases how Springfield intends for this pistol to withstand lots of heavy abuse, like the type a competitive shooter would put it through.

The frame, made of forged steel, includes an ambidextrous thumb safety and handy accessory rail. The slide has forward serrations and incorporates a Black-T finish. Recoil is handled by the 18.5-pound GI style system. The trigger is Springfield's Gen2 4 Window Speed one. Front sights are fiber optic, and the rear sights are tactical rack. Grips are thin-line G10 type colored black and gray.

Total weight, sans magazine is 41 ounces. Total length is 8.6 inches.

MSRP is $1,145. Two 8-round stainless steel magazines are included. Learn more at Springfield-Armory.com.
