Recently, Cimarron Firearms announced the winners of the 2018 Young Guns program. This year’s Cimarron Young Guns are Stefan “Fast Fingers” Marinic, Malyssa “TN Missy” Maynard, Joseph “South Paw Slim” Hornick and Kristen “Miss Half Pint Kay” Aldridge. All four winners are in the eighth and ninth grades, and are active citizens involved in their local communities.

This is the fourth year of the Young Guns program, which is designed to mentor youth shooters in the nuances of Cowboy Action Shooting. Notably, program partner Uberti is donating to each Young Gun a pair of Model P Thunderstorm revolvers.

Young Guns applicants must be between the ages of 13-18, as well as SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) members. The applicants produce a video featuring themselves explaining why they love Cowboy Action Shooting, and why they deserve to be a Young Gun.

“It is very encouraging to see youngsters get bitten by the Cowboy Action Shooting bug and the level at which they are competing at in just a few years,” said Bryce Wayt, Cimarron vice president of retail operations. “Our thanks to Uberti for the beautiful Model P Thunderstorm revolver sets for the winners. Uberti is as dedicated as we are at Cimarron Firearms to continuing the legacy of Old West firearms and the great shooting sport of Cowboy Action.”
