How To Ensure Your Match Report Is Featured In SSUSA

As match reports begin arriving for the new shooting season, here are answers to some of your frequently asked questions. The NRA Competitive Shooting Division processes match-sanctioning reports (not Shooting Sports USA magazine), which should be sent to them using the self-addressed envelope included in the sanctioning package. For Shooting Sports USA Score Sheets articles, please download the current Reporter’s Worksheet PDF available at this link.

Most clubs e-mail the completed form and photos to [email protected]. Some may not be aware of the form or can’t find a copy, and some matches don’t fit the standard format. In these cases, we try to contact match directors for the required information (place, name, hometown and score). Otherwise, incomplete submissions are held for a year and then discarded. Some reports are submitted months after the match. No problem, we include them anyway. When only one or two reports are received during the winter, we hold onto them until we have enough to fill a few pages. Lastly, all of us would like to see photos of your match, so please include them when you can.

We generally publish Score Sheets four to eight months after receiving a submission (it depends on how complete the submission is). The most often-seen mistakes in submissions are incomplete sections, illegible handwriting, lack of photos and no contact information.

To have the best chance to be featured in SSUSA, we highly recommend that you email your completed Score Sheets submissions, along with any photographs, to [email protected]. This is a much better way then sending in submissions via the postal service.
