The Lapua Monarch Cup Board of Directors have finalized the 2022 match schedule for the Lapua Monarch Cup. With ongoing travel restrictions in Canada, the Board of Directors were forced to change the 2022 Lapua Monarch Cup. Originally designed as a match series between Canada, the U.S. and Mexico, this year's Lapua Monarch Cup Series will be conducted only in the U.S. and Mexico.

The Lapua Monarch Cup will be the must-attend event of the silhouette shooting world for 2022. The Lapua Monarch Cup will take place in conjunction with the NRA Smallbore Rifle Silhouette Championship at Ridgway Rifle Club (Ridgway, Pa.), August 7-9, and at Club De Tiro Saltillo Safari in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, September 17-18. Competitors earn points from each match within their respective classification (Master, AAA, AA and A), giving all shooters an opportunity for the $25,000 in cash prizes.

Says Monarch Cup Director, Daniel Salazar:

“As per the request of the competitor’s community, the Monarch Cup Board of Directors made the exciting decision to execute the Lapua Monarch Cup during 2022 and make it an event to remember. We’ll take the necessary measures to offer our friends and competitors the safest and healthiest facilities possible, in each of the locations. It’s our first priority.”

Adam Braverman, Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Capstone Precision Group, added:

“Lapua is very excited to see this match series take place in 2022. We are disappointed that we are not able to include Canada in the 2022 version, but we understand this difficult decision. The Lapua Monarch Cup will be a great event in 2022 and even better in 2023 when Canada is able to join the competition.”

Additionally, Erich Mietenkorte has been appointed to the Lapua Monarch Cup Board of Directors, joining Daniel Salazar, Jason Marsh, Jose Alfredo (Pepe) Valdes and Adam Braverman.
