Top athletes have been confirmed for the 2025 CMP Three-Position Regional Air Rifle Championship, held in April at the CMP air gun competition centers in Ohio and Alabama, as well as the mobile electronic range in Utah.

Special congratulations to Alexandra Orr, 14, of Lafayette Gun Club in Virginia, who not only established a new national record for her individual Sporter 20-Shot Prone score on day one of the match but, incredibly, returned to break the record again on day two—setting the bar at 199-17X.

Overall, the 2025 Regional Championships saw 578 athletes.

The annual competition series is designed for junior air rifle athletes involved in 4-H, Scouts, American Legion, club or JROTC sporter and precision air rifle programs from around the nation. Participants begin with a postal match, followed by regional and national events. During the two-day match, competitors fire from three positions: kneeling, prone and standing. Qualification scores are recorded each day, with the eight highest scoring athletes from each discipline participating in an elimination final on day two to determine overall winners.

Also setting new national record scores at the CMP Regional Championship was Isabella Goldstein, 16, of Patriot Shooting Club 4-H in Virginia, with an individual 4-H 3x20 score of 598-51X. Goldstein additionally secured an outstanding individual 4-H 20-Shot Standing record of 200-16X.

Not to be outdone, Kelsey Dardas, 14, of Fountain Fort Carson High School in Colorado, posted an Army JROTC and Age Group 3 Kneeling record score of 200-20X. She also tied the current Open/Overall record for the kneeling position with the same score.

The top three teams and top eight individuals were recognized with awards at each location. Third place individuals received $100 from the CMP, while second and first earned $200 and $300, respectively. Teams placing at each location were also presented with $750 for third, $1,000 for second and $1,250 for first overall.
