Built on 31 acres in Anoka, Minn., the original Federal Ammunition plant expanded several times over the years. Now the facility covers 175 acres.

Today is Federal Ammunition’s 100th birthday and the company is pulling out all the stops with the celebration, including a dedicated website landing page, special articles, videos, giveaways and more.

Each month through the end of the year, Federal Ammunition will share stories, products and special moments drawn from its rich history as an iconic American ammunition company.

The NRA is also helping make it a special centennial year with the Federal 100th Celebration Sweepstakes. You can enter now for a chance to win 54,375 rounds of Federal ammo worth $28,437.

In addition to the monthly website updates and the sweepstakes, Federal Ammunition has released a 244-page book chronicling the company’s century of history. Called Federal Ammunition: The First Hundred Years, the book is a retrospective, divided by decade and filled with historical images from 100 years of cartridge production.

“Initially, the site will feature exclusive videos that take viewers on a tour of the iconic plant, commemorate the anniversary and much more,” said Brian Anderson, Federal’s director of marketing. “There’s also an interactive timeline that highlights some of the most influential and interesting moments in company history. Visitors can scroll through a slideshow of vintage posters, enter to win big prizes, and learn the full story of Federal’s earliest years. Look for more articles, seldom-seen photography and other exclusive content added regularly throughout Federal’s centennial year.”

The interactive timeline on the website is one of the best I’ve ever seen for a corporate anniversary retrospective, with a snappy interface making it easy to discover different milestones that Federal Ammunition has achieved over the years.

Plus, the company is releasing retro ammo boxes with designs drawn from Federal’s center-fire rifle, shotshell and pistol lines.
