The 2025 Lapua Monarch Cup wrapped up in dramatic fashion on July 22 at the iconic NRA Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico, where Team SK’s Jake Stine etched his name into silhouette shooting history. With a total aggregate score of 208, Stine became the first-ever two-time Lapua Monarch Cup Champion, capturing the crown after a fiercely contested two-match series held across North America.

Heading into the second and final stage of the Lapua Monarch Cup in Raton, the leaderboard was tightly packed. Justin Marsh led the standings with 105, followed closely by Stine (104), Cathy Winstead-Severin (103) and Erich Mietenkorte (102). But it was Stine’s steady hand and consistent shooting—posting solid second stage scores of 36, 33 and 35—that made the difference. His final grand aggregate score of 208 sealed the title, edging out Winstead-Severin (205), Mietenkorte (203) and Marsh (202) in a tightly fought finish. All three displayed remarkable skill in an event that celebrates marksmanship skills while shooting metallic chickens, pigs, turkeys and rams.

The Lapua Monarch Cup, widely considered the premier smallbore silhouette rifle competition on the continent, combines scores from both the NRA National Smallbore Rifle Silhouette Championships in the U.S. and the Dominion of Canada’s NRA National Championship. Stine’s consistency and precision across both tournaments elevated him above a deep field of elite silhouette rifle competitors.

The 2025 Lapua Monarch Cup also recognized top shooters across all classifications, with standout performances in the AAA, AA and A classes. Class winners included Pepe Valdes (AAA), Carrie Clever (AA) and Fredrico Cerda (A).

While Stine clinched the overall Lapua Monarch Cup title, Mexico’s Jimena Davila shared the spotlight in the U.S. leg of the competition with a thrilling three-way shoot-off victory against John Mullins (USA) and Enrique Kuess, Jr., (Mexico) during the NRA Silhouette Nationals.
