Team JP Shooter Jesse Misco had an outstanding performance at the 2024 World Speed Shooting Championship, held at the Talladega Marksmanship Park in Talladega, Alabama, May 29 to June 2. Misco topped the leaderboard in five divisions: Rimfire Rifle Open, Rimfire Rifle Irons, Pistol-Caliber Carbine Open, Pistol-Caliber Carbine Irons and Rimfire Pistol Open.

This five-day competition is the high point of the season for Steel Challenge competitors with this year’s event boasting 255 shooters and a total of 637 scored guns.

Jesse Misco
“Jesse’s performance was just phenomenal. He embodies the dedication to the sports that we always strive for at JP,” John Paul, the founder of JP Enterprises said. “We are incredibly proud of his accomplishments and the performance of our equipment that contributed to it.”

Misco won the Rimfire Rifle Open (RFRO) and Rimfire Rifle Irons (RFRI) divisions with his JP-22R rifle, while he earned his Pistol-Caliber Carbine Open (PCCO) and Pistol-Caliber Carbine Irons (PCCI) shooting his JP-5 Ultralight pistol-caliber carbine.

His best division time was in Pistol-Caliber Carbine Open with a final time of 52.11 seconds.

In addition to these victories, Jesse set the lowest match time score ever recorded, broke multiple world records and claimed the title of Rifle Master at the event.

Misco also finished in 19th place on the overall match leaderboard with a final time of 94.56 seconds.

"My goal has always been to continually improve and shoot faster. That’s what leads to success and world championships,” Misco said. “I’d like to think that his year’s World Speed Shoot showed that, but I could not have gotten this far without the highest quality gear in the sport. A gun that doesn't run won’t win world titles.”
